Just South of Delrin lies the country of Gol’Anais. During the War of the Lines, the Dark Elves were pushed back into the volatile mountains of ash and fire. In its wake, their cut of territory was sizable, but not entirely ideal. What little vegetation can grow, is raised and harvested in the grassy southern regions. Sugar cane and coffee plants both grow, but are no exported.
The Dark Elf is referred to as The Woken Land due to the constant eruptions from lesser mountains. In the far north are the three great mountains (translate to gaelic or some shit) Nai’Doom, Fogo’Pai, and Cinzas’Neno. Each are known to quake and coat the northernmost territories in ash frequently. Despite the hostile environment, a variety of birds make their home in Gol’Anais. Due to the heartland not getting much colder in the winter, it is believed many avian species can make their home there year round.
A skilled Dark Elf craftsman is trained to master building with the shimmering black rock known as obsidian. It is plentiful in the Woken Land and makes for a hearty building material when combined with ash paste, their main export and a material that doubles as a building mortar. The black spires of Dark Elven cities are a sight to be held.
Ultimately, they are a reclusive people. While they take part in the High Court and are generally friendly once you get to know them, the Dark Elves have bitterly accepted their home. It may not be ideal, but it is what they were given. As such, they have mastered every aspect of their land. One must do whatever it takes to survive, especially in a land as harsh as Gol’Anais.
