While The North Kings War was technically a civil war amongst two major factions, there was at least some sense of unity. The Delrish are a very united people. The Ogaitnans, however, weren’t always a people who struggled with one another.
Being the first humans found upon Cyrdoma, they once held a vast domain. They lived alongside my people and the Dark Elves for centuries. Various Kings rose and fell, as their many tribes could never decide on one leader. Ogaitnan society was weak, though their culture and people were immensely powerful. After the High Elves came, the Ogaitnans were knocked back to a tiny peninsula. Locked away by a treacherous mountain chain, and cramped into a tight space, their society festered. The many Kings that once led them formed loose alliances with one another and tried to rule a single united Ogaitnas. For many millennia, it worked. Up until forty-two years ago, it worked. As culture evolved through the ages, two societies took shape. The North became a place of religious zealots, worshipping Golmag to an insane degree. The South, while keeping the religious importance many Ogaitnans have, was a much more free and open place. After years of mounting tension, and several terrorist attacks from the North, there was retaliation. Though the South struck the first blow, and won, they lost the war. The Northerners simply fought with more ferocity. And the tug of war began. Southern rebels then began attacking them. Fighting for so many years had left parts of the country uninhabitable. Courtesy of King Jargos, a player in The North Kings War, refugees from either faction were given asylum in Delrin. Unrest has followed, as the Northerners and Southerners refuse to work together and make a new life. It is a real tragedy to see a people be so fractured at the hands of radical beliefs.
